Safe operation of RED by Lorch welding machines is only possible if you fully read the operating instructions and strictly follow the instructions contained therein. Have practical training before first use. Observe the safety regulations applicable in your country.
Never touch live, non-insulated parts inside or outside the housing – e.g., connection sockets or electrodes. An electric shock can be fatal.
If the power cable is damaged or cut during work, do not touch the cable, but immediately unplug the power plug. Never use the device with a damaged cable.
Ensure good and direct contact of the earth clamp in the immediate vicinity of the welding point so that the welding current on its return path does not run over chains, ball bearings, steel cables, protective conductors etc. and melt them.
The device may only be connected to a properly grounded power supply network (three-phase four-wire system with grounded neutral conductor or single-phase three-wire system with grounded neutral conductor).
Socket and extension cable must have a functioning protective conductor.
Use residual current devices (RCDs) of the type specified in the technical data to protect against indirect contact.
Detailed information on operation and further instructions on handling RED devices can be found in the operating manual of your RED welding machine
