RED by Lorch Welding Equipment complies with the currently applicable EMC standards.
Please note the following:
Operate the device according to the information and instructions which you can also find in the user manual of your RED welding machine. The operator of the device is responsible for the installation and operation of the device. If electromagnetic interference occurs, the operator (possibly with technical assistance from the manufacturer) is responsible for its elimination.
The RED welding power sources are Class A devices and are not intended for use in residential areas where the power supply is provided by a public low-voltage supply network. In such environments, problems may occur in ensuring electromagnetic compatibility due to both conducted and radiated disturbances. Provided that the network impedance of the public low-voltage supply network at the common coupling point is less than the Zmax specified in the technical data, this installation complies with IEC 61000-3-11:2017 and IEC 61000-3-12:2011 and may be connected to public low-voltage supply networks.
It is the responsibility of the installer or user of the welding equipment to ensure, if necessary in consultation with the operator of the power supply network, that the network impedance complies with the impedance limits.
Electromagnetic problems during commissioning and use can arise in the following areas. The environment to be considered may extend beyond the property boundary. This depends on the construction of the building and other activities taking place there.
- Power supply lines, control lines, signal and telecommunications lines near the welding or cutting equipment
- Radio transmitters and receivers
- Computers and other control devices
- Protective devices in commercial facilities (e.g. alarm systems)
- Medical electrical implants, e.g. pacemakers and hearing aids
- Equipment for calibration or measurement
- Devices with insufficient immunity to interference
- Times of day when welding or other activities must be performed
The following measures can be used to minimise electromagnetic problems:
- Regular maintenance and care
- Keep all access and service doors and covers closed and well secured during operation
- Do not make any modifications or adjustments to the power source that are not specified in the manufacturer's instructions
- Keep welding cables as short as possible, close together, and at or near the floor
- Use locally separate mains connections for the power source and for interference-sensitive devices and equipment
- Electrical and local separation of the workpiece to be welded from interference-sensitive devices and
equipment - Electrical and local separation of the power source and welding cables from interference-sensitive devices and equipment
