MIG/MAG welding machines usually have a wire feed compartment, which is covered with a side cover.
Inside the feed compartment behind the side cover are the wire spool, wire feed unit with feed rollers, and possibly other sensitive components of the welding wire system.
To ensure safe and reliable operation, the side cover must always be closed during welding.
This protects you and the machine from electrical hazards, mechanical injuries, and contamination that can affect the lifespan of your welding machine.
WARNING
Danger due to opened side cover during operation.
Contact with live components in the wire feed compartment and ground poses a risk of fatal electric shock.
Fingers, hair, and clothing can be drawn into the rotating wire feed rollers during operation and cause serious injuries.
Additionally, the wire feed compartment is exposed to dust and dirt from the environment, which can reduce the lifespan of the machine and its components.
- Close the side cover of the wire feed compartment before operation.
- Clean the wire feed compartment regularly with a dry cloth or remove loose dirt with a vacuum cleaner.
