To ensure your RED TIG 180 DC welding machine operates reliably and achieves a long service life, regular care and maintenance are required. Please observe the following instructions and intervals to avoid damage and ensure safety during welding.
Care
WARNING
Danger due to improper care.
Improper care can damage the device and cause injury.
- Switch off the device, unplug the power plug and secure it against being switched on again.
- Do not use dripping wet wipes or high-pressure cleaners.
- Observe the applicable safety and accident prevention regulations.

Visually inspect the device
- Switch off the device.
- Unplug the mains plug.
Check housing, controls, wire feed unit and accessories
- Check the following components for damage and wear:
- Housing
- Controls
- Accessories
- Have the components replaced if necessary.
Check torch, electrode holder
- Check the following components for damage and wear:
- TIG torch: housing, gas nozzle, clamping sleeve, clamping sleeve housing
- Electrode holder: contact areas
- Replace components if necessary.
- Clean components if necessary.
Check cables and connections
- Check cables and connections for damage and wear and replace if necessary.
- Check connections for surface rust and remove it if necessary.
Clean the device
- Switch off the device.
- Unplug the power plug.
Clean ventilation slots
- Vacuum the vents.

Never carry out repairs or technical modifications yourself. In such cases, the warranty will be void and the manufacturer will disclaim any product liability for the device. If you have problems or require repairs, please contact RED by Lorch.
