If the arc breaks off during welding, overheating, disturbances in airflow, incorrect working technique or poor earth contact may be the cause.
Possible causes and solutions
Permissible duty cycle exceeded
Solution: Let the device cool down while idling.Airflow disturbed
Solution: Check air inlet and outlet on the device.Fan defective
Solution: Switch the device off and on again; the fan must start briefly; replace if necessary.Ambient temperature too high
Solution: Check ambient temperature.Incorrect working technique
Solution: Correct working technique (e.g. bring the torch closer to the workpiece).-
No or poor earth contact
Solution:Attach the earth clamp to a clean, conductive spot on the workpiece or in its immediate vicinity
Secure the plug of the earth cable on the device by turning it clockwise until it stops
